INFORMATION RELEASE

Aubrey Godwin, Director, Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency announced that he will conduct an

informational public hearing on the radioactive material releases from the Nevada Test Site when the

United States Government was testing nuclear weapons at the site. During the late 1950s and early 1960s

the United States conducted extensive nuclear weapons tests at the Nevada Test Site. These tests released

radioactive materials which returned to earth in areas outside the site boundary. The collected information

will be studied for possible use by the State Radiation Regulatory Agency. Parts or all of the information

may also be provided to the National Academy of Sciences for their studies.

The Hearing will be conducted February 4, 2005 at the Mohave County Supervisors Meeting Room, 809

East Beale St., Kingman, AZ. The time of the hearing is 9:00 to 3:00PM
